Recently, over 1,300 Brazilian disciples gathered to praise God and fellowship with brothers and sisters at the 2008 conference "Uma So Fe."

Sponsored by the Sao Paulo Church of Christ, the conference theme focused Christians on the foundational elements of a saving faith in God.  Members of the South Florida Church, from Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties, traveled to the conference and taught classes that encouraged our brothers and sisters.  The classes covered many topics:  family based youth ministry, godly finances, marriage and parenting, singles ministry, teen ministry and women's ministry.  John Porter, who led the Sao Paulo Church of Christ until 2002, preached in Portuguese during the Sunday worship.  He humbly shared the lessons he has learned, and powerfully called Christians to biblical discipleship and evangelism.  John Brush taught from Ephesians 4.  As John Reus translated, John urged disciples to "live a life worthy of the calling" they have received.  For the disciples in Sao Paulo, it was exciting to have all the regions meet together and renew friendships with Christians from churches that were represented from throughout Brazil.  For visiting SFCC disciples, it was inspiring to see the impact of God's Word on another continent, in a different language - the gospel really is for all!
